Both get on like a house on fire though Jane Travers (Josephine Tewson) With no van, they pile the furniture up on the pavement The street urchins have other ideas for the furniture... Clarence doesn't notice that he's being offered a light by the furniture he's just carried out - and that it's on fire! But Jane does! Clarence takes Jane off to see the bonfires, and to get some fish and chips At his flat, Travers finds Clarence's dad's picture amusing - it's a mirror! Heading down to Jane's aunty's cottage, Clarence spots a nice place for a picnic! Travers bowls straight up the garden path - while Clarence can't even find the gate! Their first night together, even if one of them's sleeping on the floor... ... though not for long!
